Accumulation Conveyor is typically used with other conveyor types to get the product to accumulate through a run.

Accumulation conveyor is made up of pop-up sensor rollers built into ‘zones’ which use a pressurized air system to hold your product in a stand still until it receives a signal to release the material to the next part of the conveyor system. This will mean the moving product entering a sort system, weigh station, palletizer, or another process of the conveyor system.

There are several types of common accumulation conveyor, The two most common are  zero pressure accumulation which eliminates the issue of package collision on the conveyor line by allowing for gaps between each package. The next is minimum pressure accumulation conveyor it places the individual packages next to one another with little back pressure applied.
